Apple iMac Review

The new apple iMac is the most powerful all-in-one computer available at the moment, and also one of the best looking. Despite the look of the iMac being very much the same since the 2009 model, it still has a very modern and fresh look with the aluminium casing.

Design

The iMac comes in either a 21.5 inch display or a 27 inch both has edge to edge glass covers. Everything looks amazing on the widescreen display. To make this even better it includes a LED backlighting to give the pixels the light to achieve the best possible picture. The 27 inch model also contains 78% more pixels than the 21.5 inch with a resolution of 2560x1440.

Performance

The iMac has new quad-core Intel Core i5 processors which are 1.7x faster than the previous model. As well as the new processors, the iMac has a feature called turboboost 2.0. Turboboost increases the speed of all active cores up to 3.8 GHz. It does this without sacrificing any efficiency. The new thunderbolt technology is also featured on the iMac being the first to have it. Thunderbolt ports let you transfer data at speeds up 10gb/s, this is faster than the new USB 3.0 which transfers at 5gb/s.

Conclusion

The new iMacs are great, you can pick one up of the apple store for $1949. if you want the top of the range model you will get it for $2299 from the apple store. They have awesome processing power and storage, as well as a very modern design that looks awesome. The iMacs also feature a very energy efficient power supply which reduces the waste of power. Because iMacs are made of renewable materials such as aluminium and glass it is possible that they maybe recycled and reused, so it is not only a great computer but it can benefit the environment as well.
